  • Civil Engineering with a Structural Focus
  • Architectural Engineering
  • Drafting / CAD Technology

The Internship Experience

Our internships are designed to provide a comprehensive look at the entire structural engineering process, from initial consultation to final stamped plans.

Experience Focus & Key Learning Areas

  • Project Management – Learn workflow efficiency, client communication, and scheduling in a professional engineering environment.
  • Structural Analysis – Assist licensed engineers with basic load path analysis, material sizing, and beam/column calculations.
  • Drafting & Documentation – Develop proficiency in CAD software by assisting in the creation of detailed, professional construction and structural plans.
  • Site Assessment – Participate in field visits and structural inspections to observe real-world foundation issues, framing challenges, and construction methods.
  • Code & Compliance – Gain intimate knowledge of local and multi-state building codes and permit requirements.
